Forest fires in another major Indian tiger reserve


The Bandhavgarh National Park in Madhya Pradesh is on fire. Two days after a massive forest fire they still try to put out the blaze. Locals told this. Bandhavgarh is 100 square km. It is one of the most popular national parks in India. It lays in the Vindhya Hills of the Umaria district. This is 470 km from state capital Bhopal. Bandhavgarh is known for Bengal tigers.

Forest fires have spread to several zones. Also to one of the three major zones – Magdi. Disturbing visuals show trees engulfed in blaze. Also they show vast expanse of grasslands covered in smoke.

Sources say: inadequate resources are one of the reasons for stopping the local forest fires. Locals confirmed the authorities did not take immediate action when the blaze broke out.
