There is a growing discussion about the role of wildlife photographers. Some argue that the popularity of tigers, also created by the often beautiful photographs of wildlife photographers, leads to a higher demand of tigers in the wild and in captivity. Other say that it doesn’t matter how popular tigers are, there will always be fools that poach, trade, consume or use tigers to boost a damaged ego.
Our efforts to raise awareness on what ‘s happening with tigers in the wild and in captivity are undoubtedly the main driver for this initiative. But what lies beneath is admiration for an animal that has already be around for millions of years. To honour these magnificent creatures we decided to create this ‘gallery of greats’. We only show the greatest pictures made of tigers from all over the world, in the wild and occasionally also in captivity.
For all of this we can’t thank the photographers that made the photographs enough.
