Tiger cubs drown in Bhandara district on Wednesday (May 12). Two of the tiger calves died after drowning in a puddle of stagnant rain two days ago. The incident took place near the canal of Tekepar Upsa Irrigation Scheme, which falls under the Garada Buzurg Bit Forest Range in the district.

“After getting information about this incident, the team of forest department reached the spot and started investigation. Preliminary estimates are that the calves drowned,” said Deputy Forest Conservator Ravindra Bhalavi.

Another tiger calf, the third, has died in Pawani forest range.
