The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) has cleared Pilibhit Tiger Reserve’s (PTR) conservation plan which is a 10-year-long dedicated project for conservation of the national animal. Since its inception in 2013, this is the first time that the plan prepared by the PTR has been cleared by the NTCA. After the clearance by the NTCA, the management of PTR will now be able to make long-term plans for conservation and rejuvenation of tiger populations in the reserve.
The move will also help PTR to get funds for its projects which can be used to mitigate its most pressing issues like man-animal conflicts.
