Escaped Thai tiger

Escaped Thai tiger recaptured

Keeping tigers in zoos is one thing. But if you do so, you need to take care of it properly. The Khao Son Wildlife Breeding Station in the western province of Ratchaburi is obviously not taking care of its tiger, considering this news.

Aura, an 10 year old Amur tiger, escaped when workers tried to close its cage. With this they violated the safety regulations and jeopardised the lives of people and of the tiger. It also caused severe stress with the tiger, as well as an unnecessary tranquilliser dart to overcome.

This incident shows again that much is wrong with zoos in Thailand.
